While many people travel to the call Idaho simply because of the wonderful winter sports, there are many other activities that visitors can enjoy throughout the area. One of the most fun and exciting activities offered by the McCall countryside is hiking. The area is full of beautiful and exciting places to spend a few hours hiking.
For example, Big Hazard Lake is only 27 miles away. One of the easiest hiking trails in the area, the hike itself is less than a mile long. It winds through a beautiful forest before ending at the edge of the gorgeous lake. The lake itself is a perfect spot for canoeing, swimming or picnicking.
Visitors also enjoy Boulder Lake Park. This park, nestled below Boulder Meadows Reservoir, includes a 2-mile long hike. With an elevation of approximately 700 feet, the trail includes several switchbacks. It ends at Boulder Lake, a popular fishing spot. Other local hiking trails are available in this area as well.
Duck Lake is another easy trail. With very little elevation, a 2-mile trail is perfect for new hikers. The trail is easy to follow and well marked. Hikers cross two streams and travel through beautiful Meadows and what are the areas.
