Visit the City Museum in St Louis

If you have ever been to a children’s museum, you are likely to feel that you know the ins and outs of the types of exhibits that are available at places like this. What you may not realise, is that there is one children’s museum that blows the others out of the water. The City Museum in St Louis, Missouri is like no children’s museum you have ever seen.

Built into a downtown warehouse, one of the first things you notice is the school bus that seems to be perilously perched on the roof’s edge. Once on the rooftop though, you will find an entire level of fun vehicles to climb through and explore, all on the roof of the building!

The first floor is a home to the City Museum’s own Enchanted Forest. Children and adults alike can climb through a tree house, crawl through a tunnel that actually goes underground, or take a walk through a life-sized whale belly.

Walk up the stairs to the second floor and see what is going on in the art center. When you are ready to come back down, stay away from the stairs. Instead, everyone is required to slide down to the first floor on the tail of a dinosaur! That is just the beginning of the fun that can be had at the City Museum.

The second floor also houses the City Aquarium. The 13,500 square feet of aquarium space is home to more than 10,000 sea creatures. The museum also holds a working shoelace factory and sells vintage shoelaces.

Access to all of the museum’s features is under $25 per person and is a great place to spend an entire day with the family!
